Rose Valley Trekking Morocco :
Trekking in the valley of roses in Morocco: a hike that does not present great physical difficulty. It’s an opportunity to walk with friends or with your children, all while discovering the wealth and cultural traditions of the Berbers of the southern Central High Atlas. Green valleys (the valley of Dades and roses) in an arid and dry environment, Berber villages along the river, beautiful Kasbahs with great architecture, terraced gardens, oleander forests, fields of roses, walnuts, fig trees and gorges.

The programme of Rose Valley Trekking Morocco
Day 1: Marrakech – The col of Tichka – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley (326 km)
Departure around 8am, towards the col of Tichka (2260 m); the highest road col of Morocco with magnificent scenic landscape. The landscapes beyond the col will be semi desert, characterizing the southern slope of Moroccan. Lunch will be in Ouarzazate, before continuing to Kelaa M’Gouna and arriving to the Dades Valley know with its beautiful Kasbahs. Night in tents. 7 hours’ drive.
Day 2: The valley of Dades – The valley of roses Agurzegua
We’ll start our hike from the valley of Dades, passing by several terraced crops before leaving this beautiful valley for an arid landscape for 3h. We’ll then finally get to the beautiful green valley of the M’Goun. We’ll have lunch at the rim of the valley in the village of Ighrm Aqdim, then walk again for 1h30 to get to the village of Aguerzaka. Don’t forget to bring sandals as we will cross rivers several times during our gateway. Duration: 5h30 walk, Elevation: 500m of ascent and 400m of descent. Night in tents.
Day 3: Agurzegua – Almdoune Valley
We’ll be leaving this green valley with its beautiful Kasbahs and gorges, to climb 300 meters and get to the col that leads us through a juniper forest to the valley of Ameskar. Another beautiful valley named Almdoune, with around 100 houses in the form of adobe Kasbahs. We’ll have lunch in the valley of Temtda, then continue to the village Alemdoune (1700m), via a good and big path. Duration: 5h of walking. Altitude difference: 400m ascend and 300m descent. Night in tents.
Day 4: Almdoune / El Quati Valley – The oleander gorges – Boutghrar
We’ll slowly descend a valley of oleanders (plan to cross the gorges with sandals). Small but very exotic gorges, lined with oleanders before getting to the valley of Elhout with its beautiful Kasbahs. A large village with several beautiful houses, where we’ll be having lunch along the river near the village of Aznag, and continue our walk for 1hour before arriving at the village of Boutarhrar -Duration: 5 hours of walking Altitude difference: 500m descent. Night in tents.
Day 5: Boutaghrar – Tourbist – Hdida
We’ll start out day with great walk in the heart of the valley of roses with its Kasbahs that are in ever-increasing numbers. The fields of roses are lining fields of cereal barley, corn, potatoes …. These rose gardens are used for the manufacture of rose products. We’ll descent the valley until Tourbiste then Hdida. Night in lodging at the village.
Day 6: Hdida – Ouarzazat – Ben Haddou Kasbah – Marrakech
Transfer by car to Ouarazazat, then visit of the Kasbah of Ben Haddou; famous for the many films that have been filmed there. This Kasbah of the 11th century has been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We’ll then take a moment to contemplate the sumptuous landscapes of the Atlas. Arrival in Marrakech. Night in a hotel with breakfast. 6h30 drive.
