Itinerary of 4 Days Trekking Desert Morocco :

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Ouled Driss

Setting off early from Marrakech, we head towards Ouarzazate, crossing the Tichka Pass, Morocco’s highest mountain road at an altitude of 2260 meters. Descending into the picturesque Draa Valley, known for its ksars and kasbahs, we reach Ouled Drissi. Here, we join the camel team. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in desert tents, covering a distance of 450 km on this day.

Day 2: Ouled Driss – Lahnaniche Dunes

Our trek leads us towards Lahnaniche. Crossing a stunning desert plateau, we pass by the Kasbah and its ancient houses, a testament to the region’s historical human occupation. Lunch will be taken in the shade of tamarisk trees. After a 1.5-hour walk, we’ll reach our campsite amidst the Lahnaniche dunes. Expect around 5 hours of walking throughout the day.

Day 3: Lahnaniche – Ras Nkhal

After breakfast, we walk alongside the dunes of the Erg. Our chef will prepare lunch in the shade of palm trees. We continue our hike to the entrance of M’hamid town and the palm groves of Ras Nkhal. Set up camp for the night under the tent or the starry sky. Anticipate around 5.5 hours of trekking during the day.

Day 4: Ras Nkhal – Zagora – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

We begin the transfer back to Marrakech with a stop in Tamegroute to explore pottery and the ancient Quranic library. Enjoy lunch on the road. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
