Cheap Mountain Trek Morocco: 2 Days Walking in Berber Villages

Day 1: Marrakech – Asni – Imi N’oughlad – Tacht Pass – Tizi Oussem (1950m)

A 1-hour and 30-minute drive from Marrakech brings us to the village of Imi N’oughlad, the starting point of our cheap mountain trek in Morocco. We meet our muleteer team and begin our hike by ascending to the Tacht pass at 2,000m above sea level. This first stop offers a superb view over the valley before we descend along an easy path to a mountain spring for lunch.

After an hour of descent, we arrive at the picturesque village of Tizi Oussem, where we spend the night in a local Berber guesthouse (gîte).

Day 2: Tizi Oussem – Mzik Pass (2400m) – Imlil – Marrakech

Leaving this beautiful village behind, we walk through a juniper forest under the shade of impressive cliffs, ascending towards the Mzik pass (2,400m). From the pass, we enjoy spectacular panoramic views over the Imlil Valley. We then descend for two hours to reach the valley floor with its green terraced orchards. A delicious lunch is served under giant walnut trees before our private transfer back to Marrakech.
