Itinerary for the 6-Days Morocco Desert Trek
Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Zagora – Faija Plateau
We set off early from Marrakech towards the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m) before descending to Ouarzazate for lunch. Afterward, we continue to the lush oasis of the Draa Valley to meet our local team of camel drivers. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in desert tents.

Day 2: Faija Plateau – Jbel Bani – Diabi Oasis – Oued Lamhasser
Our desert hike begins by crossing the Jbel Bani mountain range, ascending via the Foum Laachar Pass. Lunch is prepared by our cook in the shade of the Diabi Oasis. In the afternoon, we descend through a dry riverbed and the scenic gorges of Oued Lamhasser. Along the way, we may encounter local nomadic families living in traditional Bedouin tents. Overnight stay in tents under the open starlit sky.

Day 3: Oued Lamhasser – Bougarne Dunes
After breakfast, we cross a broad desert plateau before reaching the gentle sand dunes of Oued Laatach. We enjoy lunch beneath tamarisk trees, followed by an hour’s trek to the grand sand dunes of Bougarne. From our campsite, we savor a spectacular Saharan sunset.

Day 4: Bougarne Dunes – Oued Naam
We trek across golden sand dunes alongside our camel caravan, arriving at an open desert plateau leading to the small dunes of Kriat Jmel for lunch. An additional hour of walking brings us to the dunes of Oued Naam, where a nearby desert well provides water for our campsite.
Walking time: approx. 5.5 hours. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 5: Oued Naam – Ras Nkhal Palm Grove
We leave the dunes of Oued Naam towards the sand dunes and palm groves of Ras Nkhal, walking across landscapes of rolling dunes and hamadas — vast stony desert plateaus dotted with volcanic rocks. Enjoy our final evening around the campfire.

Day 6: Ras Nkhal Palm Grove – M’Hamid – Marrakech
On the final day of our 6-Days Morocco Desert Trek, we transfer back to Marrakech via the scenic Draa Valley route, passing through Ouarzazate and back over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, arriving in Marrakech by late afternoon.
