Detailed 3-Day Mount Toubkal Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil Valley (1,740m) – Toubkal Refuge (3,207m)

We pick you up early in Marrakech for a 1h30 scenic transfer to Imlil Valley, where you meet your certified local mountain guide, cook, and muleteers. We begin hiking along the Mizane Valley, passing through the picturesque village of Aremd and the sacred shrine of Sidi Chamharouch (2,350m). We gradually gain elevation alongside rushing mountain streams until reaching the Toubkal Refuge at 3,207 meters.

Walking duration: approx. 5 hours | Elevation gain: +1,467m | Overnight stay at Toubkal Refuge.

Day 2: Refuge (3,207m) – Summit of Mount Toubkal (4,167m) – Return to Refuge

An early dawn start ensures cool temperatures and breathtaking sunrise views over the High Atlas range. The climb to the peak of Mount Toubkal is non-technical but requires good physical fitness as we ascend scree slopes and mountain ridges. Standing at North Africa’s highest point (4,167m), enjoy unobstructed 360-degree vistas over the Sirwa Massif, the Anti-Atlas, and the distant plains. After celebrating at the summit, we descend back to the refuge for lunch and a restful afternoon.

Ascent duration: 3 to 4 hours | Descent duration: 2 to 2.5 hours | Overnight stay at Toubkal Refuge.

Day 3: Toubkal Refuge – Imlil Valley – Private Transfer to Marrakech

Following a hearty mountain breakfast, we begin a gentle descent down the valley back toward Sidi Chamharouch and Imlil. We stop for a traditional Berber lunch prepared by our cook in Imlil before boarding our private transport back to Marrakech, arriving in the early afternoon.
