We’ll leave Marrakech for a week trek in the desert of southern Morocco. Like the nomads, we’ll go at the pace of our dromedaries while passing by the most beautiful landscapes of southern Morocco. You’ll discover the magic nights of the Sahara with a sky studded with stars. Trekking in the desert is also an exceptional experience that will allow you to think about the simplest and most essential things in life. We’ll take all the time we’ll need to appreciate the beauty of the golden dunes and the deserts of shimmering stones. During this trek, you will visit the oases of the Drâa Valley and admire the sublime architecture of its Kasbahs. Unforgettable memories guaranteed!

The Program of Morocco Sahara desert tours
Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Valley of Draa – Beni Ali
We’ll Marrakech for Ouarzazate early in the morning. We’ll go through the Col of Tichka, the highest Moroccan road pass (at 2260 meters above sea level), and through the Col of Ait Saoune before going down towards the valley of Draa. On our way we’ll see ksars, the famous fortified villages, and the beautiful city of Zagora. We’ll then enter into the great desert and finally get to the Beni Ali plateau where we’ll meet our team of cameleers. It’s a total of 7-hours’ drive passing by stunning scenery, during the first day. Bivouac and night in the tents.
Day 2: Bani Ali – Oued Drâa – Nesrat
After our first breakfast in the countryside, we’ll leave Bani Ali to go down the valley of Drâa, in the middle of numerous palm trees. On our right, you’ll be able to the greenery of the oases, and arid plateaus on our left. We’ll have lunch at Imi n’Taqquat, in the shade of the big tamarisks at the mouth of Oued Drâa and down the mountains of Jebel Bani. During that day, we’ll meet many children and cross the Drâa River. We’ll walk for 5 hours. Bivouac and night in the tents.
Day 3: Nesrat – Dunes Bou Gaiwarne
We’ll visit the charming Berber villages of Ignaoun and Moulay Ali Achrif. Lunch will be prepared by our cook in the middle of an oasis of palm trees. After an hour walk, we’ll get to the golden dunes of Bou Gaiware. We’ll walk for 5 hours during the third day and spend the night in the tents.
Day 4: Bou Gaiwarne Dunes – Marabout Sidi Salah – Tidri Dunes
We’ll follow the path of the camel drivers, the one which crosses the Oued Drâa to reach the village of Zaouiat Sidi Salah. We’ll have lunch at the exit of the village in the middle of the oasis, and we’ll meet the locals. Our camp for the night will be at the foot of the great dune of Tidri. We’ll walk for 5 hours and spend the night in tents.
Day 5: Tidri Dunes – Ergabi – Oulad Adriss
We’ll keep going down Oued Drâa in the middle of sumptuous desert landscapes. We’ll lunch near the village of Ergabi. In the afternoon, we’ll pass by the village and the oasis of Ergabi, to reach the village of Oulad Adriss. We’ll walk for 5h30 and spend the night in the tents.
Day 6: Oulad Adriss – Marrakech.
During the last day of our journey in southern Morocco, we’ll return to Marrakech via the Draa road and the Col of Tizi’n Tichka. A 460Km drive with some breaks will be awaiting before arriving in Marrakech.
